Born and educated in the UK, Darren calls on more than 30 years’ experience in the Broadcast Industry before his current role as Managing Director of Broadcast ONE.

After starting his career in the UK in professional recording studios, Darren progressed to audio post-production for television where his achievements were recognised and honoured by the “Distinguished Engineers Audio Federation” of Great Britain. Darren continued to develop his technical skills in specialised broadcast areas working with the BBC on the first digital audio Television/Radio simulcast and lecturing at Oxford University on the applications of SMPTE and AES/EBU time-code.

Darren was recruited to Australia in 1989 as a broadcast engineer, expanding his skills and experience to include broadcast transmission, point-to-point microwave and satellite communications.

He has achieved tremendous success through his involvement in major projects including Australia’s first commercial broadcast DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) system and the first Australian high power DTTV (Digital Terrestrial Television) commercial broadcast

In 2004 Darren initiated The Bridge Networks, a broadcast and communications design, supply and installation company. The Bridge Networks was based in Sydney, Australia, Wellington, New Zealand and Salisbury, UK and was a wholly owned subsidiary of Broadcast Australia.

In February 2010 Darren acquired the sales and service side of The Bridge Networks and formed a new company, Broadcast ONE, to continue the previous business and to expand into new areas, new markets and new territories.

Darren and his team has quickly grown Broadcast ONE to be the premier RF supply and integration company in the Asia-Pacific region and has enjoyed recent major successes in Australia, Vietnam and The Philippines.
